I found a few interesting little tools recently that can enhance the Windows 11 experience while using minimal resources (a big win for thin and light laptops)
This article focuses on taskbar beautification, mainly audio playback and taskbar blurring
1. TranslucentTB
Download Method: Search for “TranslucentTB” in the Microsoft Store and download it
What it does: Allows you to set the style of the taskbar in full-screen or windowed mode, such as:
- Transparent:

- Blurred:

2. FluentFlyout
Download Method: Particularly麻烦!
- First, visit Support This Project - FluentFlyout and click on “No thanks, continue to download.” on that page
Or directly click: This link to download - Double-click the script program in the downloaded zip file to run. You may be prompted to install a certificate, which you need to allow (the certificate can be deleted after installation in “Control Panel”→“Manage Computer Certificates”→“Trusted”→“Certificates”, and if you need to update the software version later, it is recommended to keep the certificate)
- Follow the software prompts to complete the operation
What it does: ![]()
It looks great! And it can also solve the problem of excessive resource usage by NetEase Cloud Music when switching songs (running NetEase Cloud Music on a thin and light laptop can use up 50% of the GPU)
The tool adds a music control component to the left (or right) side of the taskbar, which is very fun!
(Note: the player needs to support SMTC)
